We recommend Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. Both are free and available on iOS and Android.
- Google Authenticator — search "Google Authenticator" in the App Store or Google Play.
- Microsoft Authenticator — search "Microsoft Authenticator" in the App Store or Google Play.
2. Scan the QR Code
Open the authenticator app and tap the + button to add a new account. Choose "Scan a QR code" and point your camera at the QR code shown on screen.
3. Enter the Code Manually (if you can't scan)
If scanning doesn't work, tap "Enter a setup key" in your authenticator app and type in the secret code displayed below the QR code. Make sure to select "Time-based" as the code type.
4. Enter Your Verification Code
Your authenticator app will display a 6-digit code that refreshes every 30 seconds. Enter this code in the verification field to complete setup.
Why do I need a PayPal Business account?
To receive payments as a seller, you need a PayPal Business account. This is different from a personal PayPal account — it allows you to accept payments from buyers and manage your earnings.
Option 1: Create a new PayPal Business account
- Go to paypal.com/business
- Click "Sign Up" and choose "Business Account"
- Enter your email address and create a password
- Fill in your business details (you can use your own name as the business name)
- Complete the verification process
Option 2: Upgrade your personal account
- Log in to your existing PayPal account
- Go to Settings (gear icon)
- Click "Upgrade to a Business account"
- Follow the prompts to complete the upgrade
Once your PayPal Business account is ready, come back here and click "Complete Step 2" to connect it.
